Rare 1960's Sheer Black Embroidered Angel Sleeve Palazzo Jumpsuit
This is a truly stunning and extremely rare, beautiful, sheer and embroidered jumpsuit with angel sleeves and extreme palazzo from the 1960's! I am not a fan of the color black but when I saw this I cried a little inside. This has a very big disclaimer with it so please read every detail down below~ This came to me from a previous owner who thought it was a great idea to throw this into the washing machine and run it on normal setting. They didnt properly store it or wash it, which in turn, led it to tearing all over the place and very, very sadly what I believe to be dry rot in some places. I normally wont spend my time and efforts saving a piece like that, but with the style and beauty of this jumpsuit, I couldnt say no!
This is truly a classic and she is so rare! I spent a heap loads of time restoring this. It is to date the hardest thing I've come to restore: I fixed all the tears, I added extra embroidery where some spots were where the fabric thinned from what I believe to be dry rotting spots. I hemmed the giant palazzo pants where most the discoloration/rot was happening. I have tried to reinforce as many thinning folding lines as I could. This is now back in beautiful and wearable condition, but needs to be very delicately handled when worn, cleaned and stored, to preserve its life to the fullest.
Please note what you are buying out of this. She still has a lot of life to give, but comes very repaired and still has a lot of thinning lines that I didnt reinforce. The lines were from the fabric folding into itself and in time, became discolored and weaker. I have tried a pull test on many areas of the jumpsuit and the only time it will tear is on these discolored lines. Keep in mind, I pull moderately hard. It comes with a repair in the back made by the previous owner in which she used a fabric fuse strip. I repaired everything else by handsewing and embroidery because it looks way better and is more discreet and not noticeable.
This is an all sheer and embroidered beauty so will need undergarments. By all means she does not feel brittle or anything, but was just not properly taken care of by the previous person. I took a lot of time thinking about the pricing of this and hope it is reaspnable enough through all my time and effort in this restoration and the style and rarity of it! It has a back metal zipper with a fold over neck and four hook and eyes. She will best fit a small with no stretch to the waist
